Waiting

_________

I anticipated his call this morning…..was very disappointed

not hearing from him

I just needed some inspiration to help me get through the day

Warm thoughts flooded my mind and the urge to be

there with him prolonged its stay

I needed some kind of freedom I only know through him

How complicated a lifetime can be, waiting…. it seems like

4ever before I leave this place.

Lunchtime unenthusiastically slipped by, never holding a promise.

The sun slide over ½ inch to remind me of the time.

I look for it to reach the corner of the last wave in the Charles

River and for the seagulls to dance with happiness of another

day ending…….

I look for the lovers right outside my window to pack up their

lunches and lay back in the comfort of the cool evening breeze

I search for a feeling that lets me know he’s still alive inside me

I listen for a sound; the sound of metal clinking against the old,

half rotted wood of the front door to let me know he’s home!
I missed him today…..
