A quiet cozy house
Him and I there together silently loving
While candles burn brightly and
Smoke rings curl around our heads
Making a halo – joining us together
All is calm
He smiles at me and of course I smile –
I love him!
A lighted Christmas tree,
His reflection dancing gently on the
Wall,
My body caressing his.
We say so much and yet a voice is
Not heard
I bury myself within his soul, and he
In mine
Little stars twinkle in the moistness that
Spills from my eyelids and he understands
He has touched me and I must share
The joy and I do
He receives with gladness
Candlelight embraces us and tender
Gentle kisses of today’s delight
Happy salted tears that sink deep within
His beautiful skin
I shiver from the touch of him
Tomorrow’s dream is yesterday’s happiness
As we blow the candles out and retire………
Sleep in heavenly peace
“Happiness doesn’t lie in conspicuous consumption and the relentless amassing of useless crap. Happiness lies in the person sitting beside you and your ability to talk to them. Happiness is clear-headed human interaction and empathy. Happiness is home. And home is not a house – home is a mythological conceit. It is a state of mind. A place of communion and unconditional love. It is where, when you cross its threshold, you finally feel at peace.” Dennis Lehane
