“The mind forgets, but the heart always remembers”….Author Unknown
Waiting impatiently hoping that
each passing second meant you
were that much closer to me
Always thinking positively
Remembering that night and how I felt
Remembering what I saw.
You were firm but gentle….
I loved you
In a house where a lonely man resided
Torn sheets on a half made bed
and ice cycles shining
through the window
Empty beer bottles and reefer roaches
strewn about
But you loved me there
Covering my body with yours
Shielding and protecting me from the
Cold, your warmth drifted into me
As the Stylistics screamed “STOP,
LOOK, LISTEN”
I heard nothing but your heart beating
against mime, and the heavy sounds of
a lonely man sleeping in the next room
There we lay, me crying silently and you
content – I loved you!

Intriguingly thought provoking & mysteriously romantic.
Well written.
