I don’t want to spend too much time Thinking about those who have gone On before me They all left their little snippets of wisdom And checked out much too soon for my Liking. I get to stay here and sweat it out and Honestly, I’m not complaining about that at all. It's another day to celebrate life! It’s Christmastime again, it’s lights and Gifts and decorations. It’s memories and traditions and hopes…. “Baby it’s cold outside” I need some cocoa, I need to see some Snowflakes I need to embrace "My Favorite Things" “Bright copper kettles with warm woolen mittens” Bring on the magic, the wonder of the season I need to celebrate the birth of a Savior born in a manger I even get to celebrate Kwanzaa and embrace the 7 principles. I made it to another Christmas season and believe me That’s nothing to take lightly in this complicated Time of COVID. I get to reminisce about past Christmases And "Jingle bells" and sleigh bells ringing I get to dream about a "White Christmas" Although the temperature here today is a balmy 66 degrees As I run my miles at the lake. Is it really Christmas in Maryland? I get to experience seeing the joy on my granddaughters’ Faces (although it’s via FaceTime) as they excitedly Open gifts. I get to eat as much as I want And laugh a lot - maybe cry a little. But more importantly, I get to add to the times of me I get to create more forever memories And store all the moments that bring joy today, "This Christmas". "Silver Bells", it’s Christmastime in the city. (December 2021)

Christmas brings back fond memories of when our children were small.
