In Memory of Jagdish Chandler Narang

Photo from Google

Words of love spoken, feelings shared by

Just a touch, a presence that calms.

A familiar face.

Assurance that he’s not alone, that he’s

safe.

Sensing the time might be near, holding

On – but grip getting looser…..

Memories of times gone by – he remembers

This, he remembers that and although memory

Can be faulty, the feelings remain strong and

Relevant and those hours of just sitting

Together seem to solidify the bond

He looks at him with love…..the reflection

Of himself staring back …he whispers,

“Yes, I’m still here…everything will be fine.

You only need to sleep now, to rest comfortably.

Nothing more to say, you’ve stayed the course”

In my mind’s eye I peer in from the outside

What a kind man, what a gentle soul. His spirit

Transfers from father to son. I whisper so softly

Almost willing him to hear me…..he honors

You not just today but all days.  You carried him

And now it’s his turn to carry you and he does so

With pride and honor of a life well lived…..

You  need only to sleep now, your work is done

Rest comfortably……………..

All is well.
