“We can’t escape our pain; we can’t ignore it. But what we can do is learn how to hold hands
With it and love it and grow with it and walk into whatever that horizon is with it”……Brie Larson
Things that hurt, can it be that that is where truth
begins……
Truth haunts the soul, exposes what is hidden
To speak truth to yourself no matter how painful
Is to open yourself up to growth
Pain becomes that balm, the salve that soothes
The wounds of yesterday’s/today’s sorrow.
Reality and pain mixes together letting us know
What we need to work on….no masking, no cover
Pain challenging us to be who we really are – the
Breaking down of thoughts that strangle.
Occlusion gone – the stepping stone to
A more genuine you – me?
“Joy and Pain – sunshine and rain
They are both one in the same”
I covet that young fearless spirit of youth now that I’m
Older.
That willingness to take a chance on things, on life
On me. To be restless and eager that “I’m going to
live forever” attitude that pushes you forward.
and now there is no reluctance to tell the story amidst the pain and
Destruction, in spite of all the things that have gone
Wrong, there is a healing balm a cooling ointment
That starts with truth
“If it ain’t one thing it’s another…….”
Yes, I need some things, not things
That I can touch with my hands but things that
Are felt – things that fill my soul, an awareness of a
Life healed and whole and loved.
Perhaps a new perspective – a new way of looking
At things
To welcome the pain is to open yourself up to
The better you – the more complete story, a chance
To write the ending that shouts VICTORY!
“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey”…..Kenji Miyazawa
