This is my first attempt at a poetry form called “Golden Shovel.” In this form of poetry, you take a quote and each word in the quote is the end of a sentence. In the poem below, I have highlighted each ending sentence word which makes up the quote by A.A. Milne
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart” A.A. Milne
I wake up feeling melancholy sometimes
It’s as if something tragically sad happened in the
Middle of the night and I fear the smallest
Thing can send me into a tailspin. Things
Don’t seem quite right as I take
Notice of my surroundings and make myself jump up
I fight to fill my mind with the
Joy of having made it through the night. Suddenly the most
Precious thoughts start to permeate the room
I give way to the possibility of being in
The center of God’s will today. Have you ever, like me, felt your
Dreams betray the desires of your heart?

I LOVE this style! So clever and must be a great way to challenge your brain and your thoughts while you’re creating. Never saw it before 😍
Thanks for the encouragement. It gets a bit tricky. It really does force you to capture your thoughts and feelings in a very structured way. I’m still working on this style which I find very challenging but definitely rewarding.
You did an excellent job on your first attempt.
Really cool! I like it. You’re good!
Very good Jeanette.
